“I wanna tell him, please let me tell him”

There’s a new guy again, who is hiring these people anyway? No one comes around here or asks if we need help but I guess the help is here, let’s wait and see what kind of work he can do. It’s pretty quiet here honestly, it used to be different before all that stuff happened. The madam used to be so lively and social but now she just stays in her room. She still does make sure we are all taken care of, even the little kids like Yue who really likes the madam, I think he helps her cheer up but he can be a lot sometimes. Nonetheless it’s always good to have some energy in the house because it gets pretty dull and gloomy. He came a few years ago with the new cleaner and that was the one time I saw the madam look happy after everything. The chef had made some chocolate and the little boy hadn’t had chocolate before. When he tasted it he loved it so much, made such a big fuss and got so carried away by it that he made everyone laugh, even the madam. I knew from that day that the new cleaner would be here long but in all honesty we all needed it.

It wasn’t always like this, there was a time when this was the place you’d want to work at or just visit. I remember seeing the flier and coming to the premises for an interview hoping they liked me, the sir was friendly and he really loved the madam. The madam was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in my life and the interview went really well. They showed me around the premises for I would be the guard and grounds keeper. There was a place for me to sleep and food would be provided. I just thought to myself how lucky I was to be chosen by them. But only time would reveal the truth about everything.
